In our day and age, being able to do things on the go has become less of something that we’d like to happen, and more of something that we consider a necessity. Nowadays, reading on electronic devices has become a very popular way of allowing one to afford the luxury of a book, wherever they are, without the hassle of lugging around that 1000 page novel. In addition, reading books on an e-device allows one access to a myriad of book choices, which can all be purchased for little-to-nothing. So, whether you’re a stay at home parent, a businessman, traveling the world, or just cruising through life, an e-book may be for your. However, with all the choices of e-readers today, how do you know which one is right for your?

Personally, when I’m choosing an e-reader device, I like to look for four things off the bat - something that’s sleek, durable, got a large battery life, and is going adequately, if not exceed, the performance valued in the price of the product. In my mind, when considering all four of these qualities, there’s only one device that comes to mind: The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. In my hands, this device has seen a significant amount of use and wear, partly because I’m always on the run, and I have to say that it has not only met, but actually exceeded all of my expectations and for all that it does, $119.99 is a bargain!

I can honestly say that now you’ll never catch me leaving my home without my Paperwhite.
One of the most noticeable features is that it is small and lightweight, but has a powerful processing system that allows a flawless glare-free screen and cloud-based memory. This allows you to download countless books, and also read whenever you want, and whenever you want, because the glare-free screen lives up to its name! I’ve noticed that a significant amount of people ask me, “The screen’s so small, how could you possibly read anything off of that?” While the screen itself is small, the device is equipped with zoom features that allow one to zoom in if you can read the words. However, in all of my time owning the device I’ve never had to do that, and I have pretty bad eyesight myself! The clarity of the micro-led screen makes the print crystal clear, which is why I’ve never had any problems with actually reading.

In addition, the selection of books one can choose from on Amazon’s cloud database is so extensive that sometimes it’s hard to pick which book I want to start with! In addition, the interactive touchscreen interface makes swiping pages so realistic that sometimes it’s hard to tell if I’m actually reading on paper of on my Kindle. The battery life of the Paperwhite is also staggering, and it gets almost 20 hrs. to each charge, which can even be more depending on how much you use it and the brightness you have it at. The battery life is definitely one of the most attractive things about this device because I can take in anywhere with my, and seldom have to worry about bringing along a charger.

However, because every good thing in this world does have some faults, I’ll point out some aspects of the Paperwhite that I believe could be improved. One of the most obvious things that one can see when using the device is the fact that there are advertisements for books displayed when you turn the device into sleep mode. In all honesty, this does not bother me in the slightest as the advertisements are not invasive, and they’re actually helpful in aiding me in my future selections of books.

Folks, honestly for me, the Kindle Paperwhite is one of the only devices that I own where I can say that it was definitely worth the price. The simplicity of the design, the makeup of the computing components, and the overall performance are just three great aspects that make this device so fantastic. It’s worth every penny! As a traveling man, the Paperwhite has reinvigorated my love for reading and made it something that I can do with ease wherever I may be!
